Dr. Arnold Mayer is president and founder of Optech Consulting, a consultancy specializing in the laser and photonics industry. Prior to founding Optech Consulting in 1992 Arnold held positions in business development, industrial R&D, and management consulting. He received his degree in physics from the University of Stuttgart, Germany, and his PhD at the Max Planck Institute for Solid State Research in Stuttgart.

Arnold Mayer chairs the 17th International Laser Marketplace and gives a presentation on The Global Market for Industrial Lasers and Laser Systems – Current Status and Trend.

Dr. Sanjai Parthasarathi, Chief Marketing Officer, Coherent Corp.

Sanjai Parthasarathi joined Coherent Corp. in 2013 and has been the Chief Marketing Officer since 2019. Previously, Dr. Parthasarathi was Vice President, Product Marketing and Strategy, Photonics, since 2015. Prior to Coherent, he served as Senior Director, Product Line Management, at Oclaro. Over his 30+ year career he has broad management and technical experience and the opportunity to work in all of the diverse markets that Coherent addresses. Dr. Parthasarathi graduated from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, with a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering, and holds an M.S. in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from the University of Virginia and a Ph.D. in Engineering Science from the Pennsylvania State University.

At the 17th International Laser Marketplace Dr. Parthasarathi will give a presentation titled: Lasers Everywhere: Shaping our Future.

Dr. Parthasarathi will also participate in the panel discussion on Trends and Challenges for the Industrial Laser Industry.

Maulik Patel, Executive Director, SLTL Group – Sahajanand Laser Technology Ltd

Maulik Patel is Executive Director and responsible for Global Business for SLTL Group since 2015. SLTL Group has been the centre point for revolution of Fiber laser for sheet metal cutting application as being the World’s First Fiber laser Cutting Machine Manufacturer since 2002. Major laser business divisions are Diamond Processing laser systems where SLTL is world’s Largest and Industrial Laser systems where focus is on Medical industry, Jewellery, Electronics, Automotive industry, Laser additive manufacturing, applications in e-mobility and general engineering. Maulik started working with SLTL Group since 2009 and received a degree in Mechatronics Engineering and Management Development from IIM-Ahmedabad in 2012.

At the 17th International Laser Marketplace Maulik Patel will present on Laser Materials Processing Markets and Applications in India.

Prof. Bo Gu, Founder &President, BOS Photonics

Prof. Bo Gu, Ph.D., is the founder and president of BOS Photonics. He has been working in photonics and laser industry for more than 35 years in Asia and North America as a corporate executive which gives him a great insight and a unique perspective about the these regions, especially its business environment and the market dynamics. Dr. Bo Gu is a Fellow of Canadian Academy of Engineering and the recipient of the Laser Institute of America (LIA)  Arthur Leonard Schawlow Award and the International Society for Optics and Photonics (SPIE) Maiman Laser Award.

At the 17th International Laser Marketplace Prof. Bo Gu will give a presentation titled: Chinese Laser Market and Impact of Geopolitical Challenges.

Trevor D. Ness, Senior Vice President, Sales and Strategic Business Development, IPG Photonics

Trevor D. Ness has served as IPG’s Senior Vice President, Sales and Strategic Business Development since February 2022. He has operational responsibility for IPG’s laser systems and medical businesses. From February 2013 until February 2022, he served as IPG’s Senior Vice President, Worldwide Sales. From January 2011 until February 2013, he served as IPG’s Vice President – Asian Operations. Prior to joining IPG, Mr. Ness was Director of GSI Precision Technologies China from May 2005 to December 2010, and prior, served as General Manager Technical Sales for four years in Japan and a year in Taiwan. Through 2000, Mr. Ness performed a variety of roles in the UK, including Service and Aftersales Management. Mr. Ness holds a B.S. in Geology from Imperial College, a H.N.C. from Bournemouth University and an M.B.A. from The Open University.

Dr. Thomas Fehn, Chief Sales Officer – Trumpf Laser Technology

Since 2020, Thomas Fehn is the Chief Sales Officer at TRUMPF Laser Technology, where he is responsible for Global Sales, Global Services and Global Technical Service. He brings extensive experience from previous management and board positions at TRUMPF, ATOP S.p.A., SPI Lasers Group, JENOPTIK AG, and predecessor companies of QIOPTIQ. Holding a PhD in Physics from the University of Bayreuth, Thomas Fehn has deep expertise in key markets such as Automotive, Healthcare & Life Science, Defense and Basic Research. His executive experience includes managing high-tech companies and portfolios, optimizing internal processes, and driving sustainable revenue growth.
